OZCHILD SUPER SITE CONSOLIDATION
IN 2019, LEADING CHILD WELFARE AGENCY OZCHILD ENGAGED THE SERVICES OF BRM, A PROPERTY MANAGEMENT COMPANY, TO REIMAGINE ITS OUTDATED MELBOURNE OFFICE STRUCTURE. UPON THEIR RECOMMENDATION, THE GROWING ORGANISATION MERGED ALL FIVE OF ITS VICTORIAN LOCATIONS INTO TWO ‘SUPER SITES’ IN DANDENONG AND FRANKSTON.
OzChild Super Site Consolidation
November - December 2018 (Dandenong)
June - July 2019 (Frankston)
Structurally, these modern purpose-built spaces helped facilitate a more cohesive delivery of its services, while also enabling greater support for vulnerable children, young people and their carers and families. Technologically, however, it was up to Converged Technology to make these Super Sites seamlessly interconnected.
In partnership with leading communication company, Jasco, Polycom video conferencing equipment was integrated into the organisation’s existing Office 365 and Skype for Business software, to provide video conferencing and telephony services within their Unified Communications suite. Polycom Trio devices were then deployed in the smaller meeting rooms, and Polycom Group codecs in the larger integrated spaces.
Crestron TSS-7 room booking panels provided staff with a visual indicator or room status, and the ability to easily schedule ad-hoc meetings. In addition, Barco ClickShare was deployed into each meeting room to provide staff and guests with best-in-class wireless presentation capabilities.
Both Super Sites featured large multi-purpose spaces with operable walls, which doubled as a Boardroom and adjoining conference room, with a breakout/Kitchen area. Converged Technology implemented a combinable room system with Crestron matrix switching, Polycom Group codec, TesiraForte with Shure MXA910 microphone array and Sennheiser Speechline wireless microphones for complete room coverage, as well as multiple PTZ cameras to support both audience and presenter options. All of which is controlled from our best-in-class Crestron control system, providing Skype-based VC capabilities, presentation and free-to-air playback, room combine, and audio controls from a single GUI.
A variety of room packages were designed to support OzChild’s dynamic new office structure and use of Office 365 and Skye for Business as their Unified Communications strategy.
The following room profiles were designed in consultation with the customer:
