727 Collins St Video Wall Deployment
October - December 2017
Tabcorp undertook a head office relocation to move over 700 staff from their ageing premises at Bowen Crescent to Collins Square, a vibrant new business hub at the southern end of Collins St. A comprehensive audio-visual strategy was architected to improve staff collaboration across a variety of meeting spaces, including boardrooms, agile areas, video conferencing, huddle rooms, multi-purpose rooms and a number of purpose built areas.
These purpose built working areas supported Tabcorp’s Systems Operations, Race Day and incident management teams. These teams were individually responsible for monitoring all internal wagering and IT systems (Systems Operations), controlling pari-mutuel wagering across domestic and international racing for thoroughbred, harness and greyhounds (Race Day), as well as managing critical incidents if and when they arose (Command Centre). Each of these areas was to be fitted out with a state of the art video wall solution to provide real time access to a variety of video feeds from their internal IPTV solution and other external content providers.
Converged Technology partnered with IComm to design and implement a comprehensive video wall solution for Tabcorp, that would service the specific needs of each of three different teams. The system would be mission critical, support 24x7 runtime, be IPTV capable, have audio capabilities, support a large number of different graphical layouts and user driven configurations, yet remain easy to use and accessible to all members of the various teams.
Converged Technology supplied the following equipment schedule to support Tabcorp’s video wall solution:
Central to the solution was the custom Crestron control system featuring a professionally designed Graphical User Interface for a 22” touch panel installed into each of the three areas.
The design for the user experience was informed by soft gradient backgrounds and easy-to-follow iconography that created streamlined pathways for navigation. Enhanced by dynamic & customised splash screen intro's and a 'mirrored' layout of the video wall itself; the result was intuitive and simple to use.
